Our olive harvest tour is our most popular tour each year and happens during the month of October. 

Experience a week in the heart of the Mediterranean, exploring food and wine with Soul of Sicily. Our journey will include visits to some of Italy’s most beautiful places, with a balance of nature, archeology and architecture.  You’ll learn about culinary traditions in cooking lessons and tastings, and we will take you to the Soul of Sicily through food, art, culture and tradition on this journey.

Sicily, the Mediterranean’s largest island, has some of Italy’s most pristine countryside, important archeological sites and stunning nature reserves and parks.  You will learn all about the fascinating history of this island, where Africa meets Europe, where eastern and western civilization began to mingle centuries ago and where the Ancient Greeks built temples, theaters and more.

Sun., Oct. 9th Arrivals

Welcome! Your day begins when you arrive at an authentic, family-owned villa by Noto, just minutes from Noto and with a lovely garden and views. After you settle in, come join usfor a welcome drink and before we enjoy our first Sicilian style dinner together! D

Monday, Oct. 10th

After a Sicilian buffet breakfast of cheeses, cereals, juices and more, we will begin a relaxed Sicilian style day in lesser known hill-town in the area with a visit to the museum there.  You will have a chance to learn about olive oil production, artisan life and the old way of life in Sicily 100 years ago. We will enjoy a traditional lunch together. Dinner is on your own tonight. B, L

Tuesday, October 11th

We will head to a vineyard owned by friends in the countryside by Noto and we’ll learn about olive oil production, agricultural traditions and taste wines. Then, we will enjoy lunch together there. After lunch, you’ll have free time to explore Noto’s churches and we’ll have a tasting at Noto’s most famous pastry shop. Dinner is on your own tonight. B, L

Wed., October 12th

Today we will admire nearby baroque hill-town of Modica for chocolate tastings and shopping. After lunch together at our favorite spot, we'll visit Ragusa's historical center.  B, L

Thurs., October 13th

In the morning, we’ll head to the Baroque town of Noto for breakfast. Then we’ll head to a charming fishing village where we will learn about the history of fishing in Sicily and then visit a producer of seafood products and Sicilian speciality ingredients. We will enjoy a lunch which is a tasting of specialities such as Smoked Swordfish, Pasta with Bottarga, Pachino Cherry Tomatoes & local wines like Nero d’avola. Dinner is on your own.  B, L

Friday, October 14th

Today we will have a cooking lesson at an agriturismo that produces organic olive oil and products, and we will cook with Sicilian herbs and ingredients such as Sicilian olives, pasta, seafood and more. You will have a chance for some hands on fun in this class.  There will be free time afterwards to pack and relax before our Sicilian Feast together on our last evening in Noto.

After breakfast, departures for Catania from Noto at 9AM, with the van for flights from Catania airport. Arrivaderci! B
